If your child is struggling with reading, then I would love to opportunity to help boost their confidence and foster reading enthusiasm. Through the tutoring sessions I’ll work to meet individual needs and create explicit, phonics based multi-sensory lessons.My sessions focus on building various skills required for reading, including decoding (breaking apart words), encoding (spelling), orthographic mapping and overall reading comprehension skills.I have been a teacher in Massachusetts for the past 15 years. I understand the state requirements, am well versed in the common core standards, and know what it takes to help a child learn to read. I am certified in the Orton-Gillingham reading method and believe I can help any child read.The interventions I put in place allow students to advance their phonological awareness skills and phonics skills, which in turn produce very large gains in word-level reading skills.My sessions are systematic, data driven and fun!Please feel free to reach out if you would like to learn more about tutoring sessions!
