Product Description
I’ve created this clip-it cards pack to practice dividing words into syllables.
*There are 4 choices on each card: vc/cv, vc/cvce, v/cv, and vc/v.
*NOTE: This is specifically designed for students who are already familiar with these types of syllable divisions. It is to be used for reinforcement.
* Here are a few tips:
-You’ll need a set of clothespins to use this activity.
-Print the clip-it cards on cardstock and laminate them for longer lasting use.
-Shuffle all the clip-it cards WELL before starting. They are not mixed up when you print them out.
-Students will take 1 card at a time. Keep a collection of clothespins in a basket nearby.
-They will read the word, and think about how to divide it into syllables correctly.
-Once they make their choice, they will clip a clothespin on the correct section of the card.
-Photocopy and have students use the generic syllable division sheet on page 15 for a record of their answers.
*There is enough room for practice on this page to use 12 different clip-it cards.
-An answer key is on page 16 for all 48 words.
