I am a full-time special education teacher in Chesapeake, VA who lives in Virginia Beach. I currently teach K-3rd grade students with specific learning disabilities in reading, writing, and math (including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia) and other health impairments such as ADHD and anxiety. I previously taught grades 4-5 special education including Autism. I was also named the Hickory Elementary School's Reading Teacher of The Year for the 2017-2018 academic year. My passion in life is literacy and multi-sensory literacy instruction, specifically the Orton-Gillingham approach, is where I have found the most success for my students of all ability levels.
