I am a certified reading specialist and founder of ReadingGuru.com. I’m a master Orton-Gillingham reading tutor with 15 years of experience and have helped hundreds of kids crack the reading code. I offer online Orton-Gillingham-based reading tutoring to kids around the world and in-person tutoring in central Denver.
I started my reading tutoring work in NYC in 2005. I became one of the most in-demand Orton-Gillingham-focused tutors in Manhattan and Brooklyn and worked with struggling readers, dyslexic readers, and readers needing enrichment all around the city. I earned my M.S. in Elementary Education and Literacy from Bank Street College of Education in New York City in 2011, and my B.A. in History from the University of Colorado in 2004. I am certified by the Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI) as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist (C-SLDS).
I work with students who attend private schools, public schools, charter schools, and homeschools, so I understand the challenges students face in dramatically different educational environments. I also work with students who have a variety of educational differences including dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, speech and language disorders, writing issues, and executive functioning issues. I will be happy to spend time coordinating with classroom teachers, learning specialists, speech therapists, and child psychologists who may also be working with your child.
