At Best San Diego Reading Tutor, Jeannie Ross specializes in Dyslexia and Specific Learning Disabilities, teaching children ages 4-15 advanced phonics and reading skills using Orton-Gillingham instruction. Students sing, rap, move, and touch in our unique program, which uses musical, multi-sensory methods to develop new pathways in the brain. If your child is struggling in school, falling behind in reading, spelling, and writing, it means that their current method of instruction is not working for them. Nothing is wrong with your child! Not everyone learns and processes information in the same way. When we teach, we use all of the learning channels in your child's brain - visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile, as well as song. Our lessons are always one-on-one, never in groups. Your child receives unique instruction that is designed specifically for them and addresses their best learning style. She has owned her own private school, homeschooled her children, and been a Director of Special Education for the BOMUSD."Students with disabilities quickly progressed to read on grade level." In 2009, Best San Diego Reading Tutor for Young Children began offering parents the ability to have their child work with Jeannie in a one-to-one tutoring setting. Now students with dyslexia and other memory disorders are able to read fluently with her Simultaneous Multisensory Teaching methods.

- Jeannie Ross holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, a K-12 teaching credential, a Reading Specialist credential, a Learning Handicapped Specialist credential, an Education Specialist credential, and a Bachelor's degree in Music.

- Jeannie Ross has over 25 years experience with Orton-Gillingham instruction and customizing multisensory lessons that address your child's unique learning style. She is an experienced Barton Reading and Spelling specialist and combines all of the best practices in Structured Literacy to teach your child to read.
