Have you ever had a class that benefits from a little conflict/resolution after a long vacation, or even mid school year? I know I have! Some students find friendships shift and change as the school year progresses. Friendly letter writing practice can help.
This writing practice set sparks thoughtful classroom discussion, while practicing writing friendly letters. You may want to use the problem cards provided for morning meeting discussions for a few days before writing solutions.
Please be sure to offer plenty of time for classroom discussion and modeling throughout this assignment. Upon completion, have a share time for students to read their letters to the class or in a small group.
