Q: What does The Literacy Nest provide?

A: The Literacy Nest, LLC creates multisensory learning activities to use for reading intervention with struggling readers who need an explicit and structured approach to learning. Many of these dyslexia resources can be used as dyslexia activities, dyslexia strategies, or to support an Orton-Gillingham program or dyslexia intervention program. These activities can be used in 1:1 support, small group or even whole class.

Q: How do I sign up for Word List Builder?

A: My materials are for anyone seeking to use a structured literacy approach to support the science of reading.

Q: Do you have a list of books you recommend to learn more about dyslexia?

A: I do! I always recommend starting with Overcoming Dyslexia by Dr. Sally Shaywitz. For more titles, check this post with book suggestions.

Q: Where did you receive your training?

A: I am trained in Project Read and Orton-GIllingham. My first training was through the Massachusetts General Hospital Orton-Gillingham training curriculum. It was IMSLEC accredited  I completed a year-long training with a 120-hour practicum. I am in my second training with AOGPE at the Certified level, which has been a two-year training with a 200-hour practicum. I am an IDA and CERI accredited Structured Literacy Interventionist.
