Description

Fairy Tales are enjoyed by all readers. I’ve taught Fairy Tales with my third graders for many years, and it has become one of my favorite genres. I’m thrilled to offer my resources in a new lap book format.

Keep in mind, these resources work well in an interactive notebook too. I chose to have a few of my resources focus on 8 different fairy tales, but these activities are certainly open and ready to be used with ANY fairy tale.

I chose to focus this unit on the following skills: story elements and vocabulary of the fairy tale genre, the lesson of a fairy tale, analyzing characters and their unique traits, personification, point of view, problem/solution and creative writing.

–Included–

  • How to Assemble Lap Book Directions
  • “What are Fairy Tales?” and “Who Were the Brothers Grimm?” Mini Posters for building background
  • Graphic Organizers for different skills in the unit
  • Story Cube to practice recalling story events
  • Materials for students to write their own fairy tale
  • Blank Fairy Tale Story Elements Acrostic Flap Book to help students solidify their thinking about the genre
