Three Ways To Interact With The Literacy Nest
Hi everyone! As you all know, I have changed from The Reading Tutor/OG to The Literacy Nest in the past month. Thank you for continuing to support my page, stores, and blog as I have made the transition. Some of you may or may not be aware that I have three separate groups and pages.
Here’s a brief summary of all three.
1. The Literacy Nest Facebook page. This is my official Facebook page where I post daily and get to interact with all my wonderful fans. I post about dyslexia awareness, Orton-Gillingham, literacy resources, and special events in my stores. I started it about two years ago and it has grown to over 10,000 fans! It’s always helpful to me and you if you like, comment or share posts. That way my posts get seen by more fans, including you! 🙂
2. The Literacy Nest Goes Barefoot: This is a closed Facebook group where I accept members by invitation only. What’s it all about and why would you want to join? Since I became an ambassador for Barefoot Books, an awesome children’s book publishing company, I wanted to find a way to engage with my fans about children’s books and teaching ideas, crafts and hold events that showcase Barefoot Books in a special way. Events may be a Facebook party where you can learn about some of the amazing books and how to incorporate them in your classrooms or with your own little ones. I don’t post about dyslexia or OG there. It’s a bit more laid back, and lots of fun! 🙂
3. Orton-Gillingham Instructors: Back in the Fall, a fan approached me about starting a private group for OG teachers. I had been wanting to do this for awhile, and I was so glad to receive more interest. This is a small and private group. You can only become a member by invitation only and you must be an OG teacher. Why the exclusivity? I wanted to keep this group small, and have a place for OG teachers to come together, learn from each other and support one another. I am not the only one posting. Any member can post and ask for ideas or share. I absolutely LOVE this group and the members are incredibly knowledgeable. We even run a weekly book discussion. Having this blog, these groups and my page is all part of the online experience with The Literacy Nest. Being a fan and a member, gives you a chance to interact with me and others in a unique way.
